During the meeting, CM Saini reviewed works related to flood management, irrigation, roads, sewerage, drinking water, and other infrastructure projects. He instructed officers to ensure that no delays or negligence occur in the execution of development schemes.

Widening of Hisar–Ghaggar Drain

The Chief Minister ordered that the width of the Hisar–Ghaggar Drain be increased to facilitate efficient drainage from flood-prone areas. He also suggested identifying an alternative water discharge route to reduce pressure on the Ottu Lake. The Irrigation Department has been directed to explore the possibility of cement-lining the drain in villages along its path to prevent soil erosion and blockages.

Timely Action on Waterlogging and Crop Loss

CM Saini directed officials to promptly remove waterlogging from affected areas so that farmers can begin sowing without delay. He instructed them to identify low-lying regions and prepare a long-term plan to prevent future waterlogging during the monsoon.

Regarding crop damage due to recent rains, the Chief Minister said that verification of loss claims must be completed swiftly. Physical checks of data uploaded to the compensation portal should ensure that only genuinely affected farmers receive aid. “The government will ensure fair and transparent compensation to every farmer,” he said.

Monitoring of Paddy Procurement

While reviewing paddy procurement, CM Saini instructed that all registered farmers must be able to sell their crops in the mandis without difficulty. Verification of every farmer registered on the compensation portal should be completed under all circumstances, he added.

Progress on Chilli Lake Project

The Chief Minister reviewed the status of the Chilli Lake Project and directed the Deputy Commissioner to submit department-wise progress reports regularly. He said that any department found responsible for substandard work would face strict action. To resolve land-related issues, he instructed that land acquisition be done through the e-Bhoomi portal and that full 4-kanal plots offered by landowners be purchased accordingly.

Review of Drinking Water, Roads, and Sewerage Works

CM Saini reviewed ongoing HUDA water supply projects in Fatehabad and instructed officials to complete them quickly so that residents have access to clean drinking water. He also directed the Public Works Department (PWD), designated as the nodal agency, to complete all pending road repairs before winter. The Chief Minister emphasized that in all new road projects, sewerage and drinking water lines should be laid beforehand to avoid future digging.

He further instructed that the under-construction 200-bed hospital in Fatehabad be completed within the current financial year to strengthen healthcare facilities in the district.

Drainage Proposal in Bhuna

Reviewing the water drainage proposal for Bhuna town, CM Saini directed that the feasibility of the municipal plan for draining rainwater from Agrasen Chowk to the main drain be examined and implemented promptly.
